This restaurant recommendation came from the architecture boat tour, and I'm so glad we were able to stop by. Highly recommend sitting outside if possible because the views are incredible. I'm not a huge sushi person but my boyfriend loves it so I've slowly expanded my palette. We got the crispy rice to share, and it was so delicious. The rice was perfectly crunchy and the spicy tuna was so savory. My go-to sushi order is a shrimp tempura roll and a spicy tuna roll and they were by far the best rolls I've had so far. Everything tasted so fresh, including the nigiris according to the bf. Our server was super nice and had lots of suggestions for us, so we got to try some new things like the sweet shrimp. The bill ended up being pretty steep, but the overall experience and the great food justified the prices. If I'm ever back in town, I'll for sure be back!

Amazing service, food, and views. We got a large assortment of items throughout the night and were overall pleased across the board. We got 6 pieces of sashimi (salmon and all 3 types of tuna they offered) and thought the quality was great and flavors were mellow but pleasant. The lobster spring rolls were crispy and enjoyable but you can't really taste the lobster so they're pretty comparable to ones you'd get at your local Chinese restaurant. I thought the rock shrimp were also just decent but one of the people I was with said they were the best they'd had- so take that as you will! The real standouts for me were the bluefin tuna shiso, the mushroom fried rice, and the king crab crispy rice. These are the three I think are not skippable and I would highly recommend all three of these dishes. I'll probably be back to eat the mushroom fried rice in particular. As it was someone in ours groups birthday, they brought us a little key lime pie / sorbet type dessert. We are not ones to comment on this because we don't like key lime pie to begin with, but we are sure it would've been great for people who enjoy key lime pie. Will probably come back for another special occasion or to get drinks here. Very great visit and accommodating staff!

This place is adorable. I've been here a few times, with friends or alone. The last time was special because I brought a date and sat outside for the first time. Loved the view. They have the best edamame in the city. The sushi is also amazing. I always get the shrimp fried rice, it's very yummy. I love that there's spinach in the dish. It's always a treat to dine at Miru.

One of the best meals we've had in a long time. The gorgeous view and meticulous staff matched the excellent food. This is the definition of expensive, not overpriced. All the skewers were stellar, especially the unctuous, spicy eggplant. Every tuna nigiri was melt-in-your-mouth memorable. The crispy whole snapper was almost a letdown because it was merely a 4-star dish. The batter was a little salty and the salad ordinary. You can't do much better for a special occasion in Chicago.

I don't know why I never came around writing a review here when I first came here last year early June. My coworker asked if I wanted to try Miru as it just opened up and I lived nearby. It is gorgeous inside and the staff are all great. I also went back of Miru for a quick lunch with a friend about a month ago. It still lived up to expectations. My favorite things to order are the duck yakisoba and the crispy rice appetizer. My only complaint with the crispy rice is that it should come with at least six pieces minimum. Other than that, it is delicious! It's a must try. The food is all great and there's a variety of food from small bites, sushi, sashimi, and entrees. On a nice day, you can eat out on the terrace and possibly watch the fireworks depending on the day. My favorite drink to order is the Lady Luck. It's a sweet drink that is also cute. For a great atmosphere and a lovely dinner, Miru is a great place to go. Just be ready to spend some money.

I came with a friend to Miru on a weekday, mostly for the rooftop. The entire restaurant is GORGEOUS. Stunning views of the loop, and the aesthetic is perfect for the theme. My friend and I just got drinks, and they were phenomenal! Bartender was knowledgable and friendly. Once I start raking in millions, I'll be back for dinner.

Unforgettable Dining Experience I celebrated my birthday at this restaurant, and it instantly became the best dining experience we've ever had. The restaurant's ambiance is elegant, sleek, and uniquely inviting, setting the stage for a memorable evening. Every dish surpassed our expectations; each bite was exceptional. The tender pork belly, fresh sushi, and out-of-this-world lobster spring rolls left us craving more. To complement the exquisite flavors, the cocktails were perfect, adding another layer of enjoyment to the meal. We were unsure which red we wanted to enjoy during dinner, so our server went above and beyond and brought us 4 different tastings to sample. We've been raving about our experience to everyone we know, recommending this gem without hesitation. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining adventure, this restaurant is an absolute must-try. We can't wait to go back and experience the rooftop during warm weather!

Everyone is dressed up here, as its food, panoramic views, and prices. Favorite dishes: * Raw hamachi, lemon, and white ponzu * Raw salmon, truffle, yuzu, and miso salt * Crispy rice with spicy blue fin tuna * Shichimi eggplant, red miso, and crispy lotus * Triple tuna maki * Miru rainbow * Black sesame mochi * Chocolate silk tart * Coconut cake and mango mousse So-so dishes: * Duck yakisoba Least favorite dishes (1 star off): * Crispy rice with king crab: too much mayonnaise * Lobster spring rolls: did not taste lobster * Diver scallops: too salty Please note that Miru adds a "surcharge" (not gratuity) to every meal without disclosing this to its customers ahead of time. One night, on our ~$500 dinner bill, we were added $50. Then when we came for lunch on another day, on our ~$175 bill, we were added $4. It seems like the surcharge amounts were random. When we asked our waitstaff what this charge is for, he could not give an answer, so we asked him to take it off. I don't like how they just sneak that in there if you don't check your bill.
